| Gohar Galstyan is an Armenian digital artist and the founder of ORNAMEN'T. Her artistic practice is centered on the study and contemporary reinterpretation of Armenian cultural heritage.
Years of independent research, continuous self-education, and the study of Armenian art shaped her creative vision. A defining moment in her artistic journey came with her first encounter with the original medieval manuscripts preserved at the Matenadaran. From that point onward, Armenian manuscript illumination, ornamental traditions, architectural carvings, and historical inscriptions became the primary sources of inspiration for her work.
Rather than reproducing historical artifacts, Gohar Galstyan explores their structure, symbolic language, and artistic logic, transforming them into original contemporary compositions that preserve the identity of Armenian culture while expressing it through a modern visual language.
Each artwork begins in the digital realm, where new visual narratives are developed through the study of historical sources. The work is then printed on canvas or parchment and completed with hand-painted interventions. This dialogue between digital precision and traditional craftsmanship defines her distinctive artistic language, giving every piece a unique and individual character.
Her works present Armenian cultural heritage as a living tradition"one that continues to evolve and find its place within contemporary art, architecture, and interior design.
Gohar Galstyan's participation in **Art Shopping Paris** marks an important milestone in her artistic career, introducing Armenian visual heritage to an international audience through a contemporary, original, and deeply personal artistic interpretation.
