| Happiness reflects the artist's struggle to seek a sense of spiritual detachment within contemporary society. The work draws on the compositional language of Tibetan Thangka while incorporating the visual style of pop comics, creating a contrast between sacred symbolism and contemporary popular culture. The painting explores the psychological state of young people living within systemic pressures"such as widening wealth gaps, the worship of influence, and the imbalance between personal passions and financial realities. In response, many turn to a form of “pseudo-detachment,” searching for meaning, cause, and emotional relief within an increasingly compressed inner world. The small dog in the composition is an IP character inspired by the artist's own dog. Both playful and symbolic, it represents a longing for simplicity and genuine joy amid the complexities of modern life. |
