Mariano Quintana is an Argentine contemporary artist whose practice investigates the relationship between perception, nature, and human experience. His studies in Nutrition and Veterinary Medicine, his experience in high-performance sport, and his work at Boca Juniors shaped an approach to living beings informed by the body, anatomy, science, and animal observation. Between 2009 and 2017, he furthered his training in painting at the studio of his master, Jorge Rajadell, a leading figure in Argentine animal hyperrealism. The animal world forms the core of his work. Animals emerge as perceptual presences that return the viewer's gaze, opening a space for self-observation and self-validation. Hyperrealism transcends technical precision to become a perceptual means. The meticulous detail of the image invites attentive, profound observation, opening up reflection on oneself, others, and the world we are part of. His research extends to objects, experiences, and interventions where art, nature, and everyday life converge. Study and experience become a form of perception, contemplation, and encounter.
