| My work and creative process center around three themes. The first is making meaning of my surroundings. As I find images and meticulously cut them from their original sources to place them in new contexts, I channel my thoughts and perspectives on the various happenings throughout my days. Often, this process serves as a means of healing from circumstances I have found triggering, regardless of how small they may seem. Because the process grants complete control over the final result, each effort becomes an opportunity for transformation and renewal. What I seek to portray is what I seek to project, and what I seek to project is what I seek to manifest. Each time I sit down to create, I enter a portal of manifestation. The second theme is relationships"how we relate to one another, to ourselves, and to our environment. As we overlap with the world around us, we are changed by it. My process seeks to embody this fascination: each time an element is placed beside another, its meaning shifts. Through this transformation, new meanings emerge and new interpretations are invited. The third pillar of my work is temporality and intuition. In the collage-making process, elements are continually covered as layers accumulate. This serves as a lesson in acceptance, acknowledging that things change and evolve. It also connects to trusting intuition, with my hands acting as a conduit for subconscious feelings as well as messages from something beyond the tangible world. |
