| QUEERNARTSTUDIO GALLERY STAND 61 Born in the heart of the Basque Country, Mila Agirre is a photographer and digital artist with a diverse background. She is also a lawyer and holds a degree in East Asian Studies, along with a strong foundation in contemporary art. Her multifaceted career and diverse interests have shaped a unique artistic perspective, evident in every piece she creates. Mila's photography stands out for its versatility and deep connection to her subjects. Whether capturing the essence of a place through travel photography, portraying the soul of a person in a portrait, or unveiling the intricate beauty of the small world in macro photography, her work is a testament to her empathy and keen eye for detail. Often described as cinematic, her photography invites viewers to step into the scene, blurring the line between observer and participant. Technology plays a crucial role in her work. Passionate about the creative possibilities of digital art, Mila explores the ever-evolving boundaries of visual expression. Her images create a dialogue between reality and the virtual world, reflecting the increasingly blurred line between the two. Her artistic journey began with exhibitions in the Basque Country, particularly her participation in Gasteiz in support of Bultzain, an NGO aiding the homeless, and in Barakaldo, her hometown. These early exhibitions opened doors to international collaborations, including the renowned Frozen Kids documentary project. Since 2014, Mila has been showcasing her work on the international stage, sharing her unique vision of photography and digital art with a global audience. In recognition of her work, she received the Premio Arcimboldo for Graphics at the International Art Symposium in 2017, an award that highlights her exploration of the intersection between traditional and digital techniques.https://www.mila-photography.com/ |
