Trade has evolved from traditional barter systems to currency and today's digital payments. This project is inspired by an event in Tianjin, China, called "GAN DA YING," meaning "merchants flocking to the market." In the face of tough conditions, merchants traveled from their hometowns, passing through 14 cities and reaching Xinjiang, exchanging local goods along the way. Commissioned by the Tianjin Cultural Museum, this project involves designing an educational booklet to support an exhibition that honors these barter activities in a contemporary, aesthetically pleasing manner. The booklet will feature a map of the merchants' route, the locations they stopped at, and the goods they exchanged, presented through type design and patterns. Additionally, AR technology will be used to mimic the modern e-payment system, allowing visitors to scan and experience a glimpse of how ancient trade was conducted using a familiar gesture from today's daily life
