These two works use the lively little creatures of butterflies and goldfish to express a free, joyful, and fun-filled mood.
Butterfly Dream
Auspicious clouds embrace the jade sky, A graceful moth dances in splendid splendor. Life is but a fleeting dream, Spring mornings pass beneath its wings.
Fish Fun
Emerald leaves surround the courtyard, embracing the fragrance of chrysanthemums; goldfish frolic in the clear pond, their tails swishing. A place of carefree leisure, where wealth and blessings abound.
ARTIST PROFILE
Aisin-Gioro Hengjin was born in Beijing in 1972 and settled in Hong Kong in 1993. A descendant of the Daoguang Emperor of the Qing Dynasty, her great-grandfather Zaiying and maternal grandfather Puquan (Songchuang) were both renowned modern Chinese painters and calligraphers. Her mother, Wenjia (Yu'an), was a successor of the imperial court painting and calligraphy tradition. Hengjin learned painting from his family elders from a young age.
She excels in painting horses, flowers and birds, and figures, characterized by vibrant colors and lively brushstrokes.
In 1991, She founded Songfengge in Beijing to promote the Aisin-Gioro family's painting and calligraphy. In 2019, he established Jinstudio in Hong Kong to further promote the Aisin-Gioro family's painting and calligraphy tradition, while also disseminating imperial court painting and calligraphy, allowing more art lovers to understand and experience this art form.
