Abashidze RUSUDAN

Editions OCTOBRE 2025
Rusudan Abashidze is an artist whose practice is a vibrant, intense, and deeply textural exploration across painting and functional art. Her approach manifests in a body of work that is simultaneously playful and erudite, characterized by bold color, dense composition, and diverse material engagement. Her restless material research is evidenced by three distinct projects utilizing acrylics, oil pastels, and hand-painted furniture. The mixed media and acrylic works (e.g., "Saturday night", "The guardian of the golden Khinkali") use thick, sculptural applications of paint, building up dense, vibrant textures characteristic of her unique style. In contrast, her oil pastel works (e.g., "Birth of son", "Dad and brother") are intensely dense and energetic, utilizing vibrant, unblended color to create figures and environments that appear flattened yet compositionally complex. Exhibition History Rusudan Abashidze's work has been exhibited at venues including the BAF Bodrum Art Fair 2024 the Luna Grande Gallery 2023, Digital Exhibition Week of Women in Art 2021 and 2020. She developed a dedicated body of work in France (2023) during a French Furniture Painting residency
