| SACHA - The World of Circulism - Sacha is a self-taught artist and has been painting since he was 15 years old. Sacha was born in New York in 1965, both parents migrated to the US from Spain... His father is a know classical guitarist Jose Luis Franco. Sacha realized at age 15 that his passion was creating Art and at age 17, he had his first Solo Show in New York City. He quickly realized that to become a known artist, he must create his own style & technique just like the great masters. He was influenced by Picasso, Modigliani, Matisse, Goya, El Greco, Van Gogh and others. In 2003, after many years of traveling and showing his work, he created a new technique called Circulism. This Circulism method involves using toothpicks, nails and sometimes Q-tips to create intricate, overlapping and intertwining circles to form images & texture on the canvas, often using oils & colored pencils. Sachas still-life are poetic and his figurative art, anecdotal. They are self-aware deliberations with a unique formal aesthetic owning to his meticulous method of tinting and shading the painted surface by etching circles with a toothpick or nail; Circulism. These orbital reverberations impart a harmonious molecular frisson in the eye of the beholder. His images are like idealized specimen in a natural museum, vignettes of life displayed in a comfortable picture-planes. There are no loose ends in these well balanced composition. Both emblematic and decorative, they are each tight choreographed narrative, an existential play in which the viewer becomes viewed. Sacha has had over 90 shows in over 45 years in many cities around the world, including USA, Europe, Asia & Australia |
