ANIMA Sculptures - Ria Persad |
| Editions OCTOBRE 2025 |
| ANIMA combines scientific accuracy with a dream world of nature. Sculptures can be commissioned to any size, with many at exact anatomical scale (busts, birds, amphibians, reptiles, sea animals). Every subject is researched for its structure, ecosystem, and history. The figure is formed according to the principles of Italian classical sculpture, then meticulously hand-painted by artist and scientist Ria Persad. Ria Persad was born on June 18, 1974, in Trinidad and Tobago of mixed Indian and Japanese lineage, educated in America (Harvard, Princeton) and the UK (Cambridge), now living in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. From serving as an expedition scientist in climate and biodiversity, her art reflects the beauty of the continents and oceans, with themes of conservation, harmony with nature, Divinity, and Zen philosophy. |
