KALOPSYANA

Editions OCTOBRE 2025
My name is Mu, and I create under the pseudonym "Kalopsyana." I am a self-taught artist, passionate about the Arts since my childhood.

I have developed my skills by exploring Artistic, Mixed, and Craft techniques from diverse, multicultural backgrounds, inspired by various Creative and Historical Movements, such as all forms of Painting, Drawing (with a special interest in faces and the Human Body), Sculpture, Clay, Wood, Aerated Concrete, and also Papier-Mâché, as well as the Assembly of Various Recycled Materials, including:
Plastic objects and bags, cardboard boxes, paper, egg cartons, food packaging, bottle caps, straws, fabrics, wool, felt, jewelry, children's toys, and second-hand objects.

Somewhat of an alchemist, I enjoy experimenting with these materials while trying to invent or reinvent new techniques. I use Natural Products (Tea, Coffee, Vegetable Peels, Sand, Crushed Stones, Plants, Tree Branches, Roots, Trunks, Leaves, Pine Cones...)

I love mixing products: paints, cements, concrete, sand, plaster. With what I find, I create mixed-media installations so that my works can be seen from different perspectives (you can turn around and discover hidden secrets, sparking curiosity).

I also create artistic notebooks, paintings on canvas or wood, pyrography, as well as objects and jewelry using various materials that I assemble either by sewing, gluing, nailing, or screwing as my inspiration leads. All my works have a hidden meaning. I like the idea that people may (or may not) find the CODE of My Work by creating their own DEFINITION.

I enhance my work by staging my creations. My training in graphic design software (Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver) has allowed me to master this sense of Imagery.

Recently, I decided to start video editing and music creation to add another dimension to my art.
My little laboratory is filled with small Treasures that shape My Imagination and My Madness. I tell myself Stories to invent My World, filled with contrasts.
I tell myself stories to Create My World, full of Oppositions, Mystery, and Questions about the Meaning of Life, following a principle of Sacred Ritual.

Don't be fooled by appearances; I invite you to discover My Universe.
Imperfections, even insignificant things, can hold immense value if you know how to illuminate them.

The illusion that things are more beautiful than they actually are.
I invite you to discover My Universe.
Nothing lasts, nothing is finished, nothing is perfect.
